My Facebook page

I invite you to my peaceful, hilltop office. Together, we can explore and work through your feelings of loss/grief, non-acceptance, feeling less-than, life transitions, dissatisfaction, helplessness, and pain. I can help you with empowerment, insight, and moving beyond impeding obstacles. With empathy and sometimes humor, I will guide you through life's crises and challenges.   You can learn to stay mindfully in the present, an antidote to fear and helplessness. Life can always be better and we can remember to be thankful for the beauty and the good.  Offering caring empathy, I work with both individuals and couples.

I use a variety of techniques when appropriate, including EMDR, shamanic journey, hypnosis and imagery, talk, homework --whatever works at the time. Many of these techniques, useful life tools, can be incorporated by my clients into empowering their everyday lives. I work with anxiety, dissociation, life transitions, trauma.

I recommend that we work intensively (at least 2 times per week) for short, contracted periods such as 2 or 3 months. With this format we can build intensity and increase effectiveness.

After much intense, introspective work, we can choose to take a break for integration, negotiating the time period, and if needed, a restarting time. This method can be extremely empowering. It creates personal space to assimilate what we have accomplished, letting the positive changes be felt and integrated.

The "goal of psychotherapy is to learn new capacities to manage attachment distress ... psychotherapy is the process of changing neural patterns in the brain, the right brain in particular." Allen Schore

Unsolicited client comment:

"I wish to thank you for all of the gifts you have bestowed upon me.
Our therapy sessions together were of times of great growth,
A continual process that has been with me every day since.
I feel like we've forged a connection that will last forever,
Helping me both in times of darkness and times of light."  Miles
